Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attacked the Congress over its leader Sam Pitroda's “50 per cent inheritance tax” comment, saying the grand old party's “dangerous intentions” to snatch away people's property and rights have come to light.
Addressing an election rally in Ambikapur, the headquarters of Chhattisgarh's Surguja district, he claimed that the Congress will loot people's earnings and properties and distribute them equally.

“Congress's dangerous intentions are coming to light one by one and now it says it will impose inheritance tax. The 'Prince's' advisor to the 'Royal Family', who was also an advisor to the Prince's father, said that it will impose higher inheritance tax. It will be imposed on the middle class and those who earn by working hard,” Modi said, apparently referring to Rahul Gandhi and Pitroda.
“They (the advisor) had said this publicly. Now they (Congress) have gone a step further and Congress is saying that it will impose inheritance tax. It will tax people on the property they inherit from their parents Now, 'Panja' (Congress's election symbol) will snatch away property from your children,” he said without naming anyone.
Modi was apparently referring to a statement by Sam Pitroda, president of the Indian Overseas Congress in Chicago, US, on the inheritance tax law.
PM said that the mantra of Congress is 'Congress's loot, even with life, even after life'.
“As long as you are alive, Congress will impose higher taxes and after your life ends, it will burden you with inheritance tax. They (Congress) want to take away your property and the rights of your children,” the PM said.
Congress does not want common Indians to give their property to their children. From values to culture, our country is not a consumerist country. He said, we believe in accumulation, promotion and conservation.
“Today our nature and environment are safe because of these values. Our old parents and grandparents keep their small jewelery safe thinking that their grandchildren will wear it in the wedding. People of my country have to live their lives by taking loans. Are fond of living.” People are hard-working and spend according to their needs and have a tendency to accumulate.”

Meanwhile, early in the morning, Sam Pitroda in a series of posts on his 'X' handle said that his statement was distorted by “Godi media” to refute the lies being spread by the Prime Minister about the Congress manifesto. Attention can be diverted from.
He said, “It is unfortunate that what I said as an individual on inheritance tax in the US has been distorted by the Godi media to divert attention from the lies that the Prime Minister is spreading about the Congress manifesto.
